About

The Community Board is an independent coalition of twelve filmmakers and documentary professionals who represent  Black, Indigenous, Native American, Latinx, Chicanx, Arab, SWANA (South West Asian and North African), Asian, Pacific Islander, and other communities of color, and whose diversity cuts across gender, sexual orientation, physicality, neurology, class, and life experiences. Members of the Board are actively engaged in culture shift and field-building efforts within the documentary sector, as members of nonprofit organizations, affinity groups and collectives.  We seek to map, amplify and bridge these efforts to create maximum synergy and impact at a time when the field demands transformative change and new leadership. We see a need to connect the nodes, build power, play, dream and radically imagine the future.
